What to expect in your consultation
24/06/2021
So you have looked in the mirror or at a few recent photos and something is catching your eye. What is it? Actually try and think about it and analyse it. It’s easy to say you just don’t like something about your face, but what is it exactly? This, and more, is what we’ll try and get to the bottom of in your facial aesthetics consultation at hello me before undergoing any treatment.

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO BE SPECIFIC
For you to be happy with the result, and more importantly, get a bespoke treatment plan, being specific is very important. If we don’t want the stock ‘tick box filler and wrinkle relaxing sheet’ then we need to be specific about what we want in order to get what we specifically need. Trust us, it leads to a better end result!
Of course, there is an element where your practitioner will advise and make recommendations, but believe us when we say your practitioner will thank you for giving them as much detail as possible in your consultation.
WHAT TO TELL YOUR FACIAL AESTHETICS PRACTITIONER
Here’s 5 questions to think about in advance of your appointment and to come prepared with answers…your homework if you like!
- What area you are specifically bothered about. Is it a specific line on you face? Is it the top or bottom half of your face that you think has aged more than the rest?
- What is it about the area that makes you focus on it? Is it the depth of any lines, the way the lines affect your smile, is it the texture of your skin?
- What did you like most about you skin/facial features when you were younger? How has you ageing journey been so far?
- What overall result do you want? Is it to banish fine lines, overall brightness?
- Finally, how do you care for your skin and general health now? Talking generally about your well-being will give your practitioner a good idea of your lifestyle and long term health goals
REMEMBER FACIAL AESTHETICS IS SUBJECTIVE
Facial aesthetics is subjective – if you were to ask one friend to list out the problem areas on her skin it will inevitably be different to the problem areas you would list out – after all, you see her beauty inside and out. It would be the same if you were to ask a skincare specialist to tell you what they think you need doing…those more unscrupulous ones could, and probably would, list out many things you hadn’t even thought of!
Your goal with your skin and facial aesthetics is to be the best version of you – not turn into the mould of what other people think beauty is. Finding the right practitioner who understands this will be a great first start for anyone considering botox, dermal fillers or any kind of facial aesthetics.
